Gotland Runt 2008

Gotland Runt went quite well. We finished 30rd out of 87 boats. The crew worked well through out the whole race. We did one major tactical failure when we sailed further away from Gotland on the first morning and another on the way back to Almagrundet when we chose to sail on West side of the track. Weather did not suite our boat well because there was no chance to use spinaker more than 1 hour. Even though we learned allot and did a complete and good race. The boat is now back in Hanko for more serious racing.

Hi to all,

After serious problems with the engine earlier in the week (we lifted the boat up in Skogsby and changed the engine) the boat is now in Sandhamn ready to start on Sunday.

Volvo Suursaari Race 2008

The biggest finish sailing regatta starts tomorrow. The crew is really exited and enjoys the gained experience from last weekend. In the last start we finally found the right boat speed.

we start at 21:20 along with the open class. Let`s see when we reach the others. heh Wind should be relatively light so we prepare our selves to finish during Sunday afternoon.
The boat is in good condition as you can see from the new colours in hull and boom. The Danish genoa works well and the crew has new uniforms for the weekend. Here some pictures from last weekend

club races

For this summer our team has decided to participate weekly club races in our own club Koivusaaren Pursiseura.

Season started quite well when we finished 8 out of 22. This gave the team some confidence for future races.

Today the story was not that good. We got difficulties after the second jibe. Sail went round the forestay and we needed to lift Immu up in the mast to get the sail down. At this point this weeks competition was over.

As you can see, there have been some changes on our website. The major change from now one is that I`ll be writing in English (sorry for that). The reason for this is that we have successfully closed our sponsor deals for the season 2008.

Uusi kausi uudet kujeet

Kausi 2008 alotettiin vauhdikkaasti. Vene purjehtii nyt virallisesti KoPu:n väreissä ja uusia purjeita on ja lisää on tilattu. Ensimmäinen purjehdus suuntautu Inkooseen, mutta kevyiden kelien takia ei päästy nauttimaan veneen täydestä potentiaalista. Ensimmäisissä tiistaikisoissa porukka oli yhtä vaille täysi ja meno vaikutti jo lupaavalta. Manööverit hioutuu varmasti kauden aikana, mutta meni jo kohtuullisesti. Vähäisen osallistujamäärän takia poimittiin kivasti 3 sija isossa luokassa ja kivasti pisteitä kauden avauksessa.

Keulan seinäpanelien vaihto.

Vanhat valkosella tekonahan tyyppisellä materiaalilla päällystetyt vanerit oli umpilahot. Ne poistettiin ja siirrettiin perunamaalle, sillä kasvustoa oli jo aika lailla. Syynä tähän pidettiin kahta asiaa. Ensiksikin, vene on 25v. vanha. Toiseksi, levyt oli ruuvattu kiinni runkoon, eli niiden takana ei ollu mitään tuuletusmahdollisuutta. Uusien levyjen kanssa toimittiin seuraavasti.

Ainut puutavarakauppias, jolla on yli 270cm pitkää levyä löyty Lahdesta. Koska kävin siellä muutenkin hakemassa lattialevyjä, niin nappasin ohuen vesivanerin mukaan. Keulan levyt nimittäin on maksimipituudeltaan 280cm ja korkeus muistin mukaan pistettiin levyn ja pintamateriaalin vuoksi 63cm:iin.

Törmättiin puljuun vene-messuilla. Ohjeiden mukaan tavaran voi liimata joko suoraan veneen runkoon tai kuten me tehtiin vaneriin. Liimana käytettiin vesiohenteista kontaktiliimaa, jälki näytti hyvältä, katotaan miten kestää.

Verhoiltuun vaneriin porattiin reijät ja levyn ja rungon väliin sahattiin 5mm pitkät kupariputkenpätkät pitämään levy irti rungosta. Ruuveilla kiinni runkoon ja päälle Teollisuuskadun Pasilan päässä olevasta Kiiniketalo Oy:stä hatut ruuveille.

Levyjen sahaamisesta ja lakkaamisesta ei ole paljoa kerrottu. Upeet ne on, joten tässä lyhykäisyydessään selostus.

Tästä kirjottelinkin jotain jo aikasemmin. Tavarat ostettiin Tanskasta ja Turkulaisesta http://www.terpol.fi/
Turun pulju oli erittäin asiallinen ja toimitti kamat linja-autorahtina 1-2 päivässä Helsinkiin. Vaikka ekasta kuormasta puuttu pikkasen kamaa, saatiin tavara oikeaan aikaan käyttöön.
Hionta tehtiin papereilla 120, 180, 240, 320 ja 400 koneellisesti ja käsin 600, 800, 1000 ja 1200. Vielä hiontatahna ja vahaus puuttuu.
